Turkey Take Over! (L.5)

St. Mary's had it's biggest group we had ever seen this semester this day and all of the kids were very excited for us to come. They were all bouncing around as they waited for us to set the gymnasium up for our activities. Evaluating the children's skills was easy because all of the kids wanted to participate. I felt that everyone of us Cortland students took this as a great opportunity to have a full experience with multiple kids at once and jumped right in confidently. Everyone's activities went smooth and the timing of switching activities went well with the energy levels if all of the kids. This was a very fun day. Some of the boys were amazed when I showed them I could dunk a basketball at the end of the day.

So Far So Fun

Fun with P.E.

Halloween Day at St. Mary's (L.4)

This was a great lab experience because it was my groups first day working with the Pre K group and got the opportunity to take the kids outside in the playground. It was harder to get the full groups attention once they were outside but it was easier to interact with smaller groups of children at a time. I read to a group and then helped them read to each other before getting involved in some of the games the other children were playing.

Hyper Dragons Rap For Cortland!

I worked with classmates Seth, Ramsey, and Mike for my assignment in PED 201. My group “ The Hyper Dragons” created a video on loco Motor skills from our textbook(Gallahue, D. L., & Cleland, F. (2003). Developmental physical education for all children (4th Ed). Champaign, IL: Human Kinetics) chapter 8. This assignment was fun because we used our on creativity. Dr. Yang gave us complete control over the project. My group came together and brought in lots of great ideas that made this video unique yet very informative. This title of the video is Hyper Dragons Loco Motor Skills Rap. Please check it out and let me know what you think.

St. Mary's Super Heroes Save the Day(Lab3)

Last Wednesday's lab at St.Mary's Elementary was a very exciting one. Everyone dressed up as super heroes to get the children pumped up and ready. As soon as we engaged with the children they were running around play with non-stop energy. I lead one of my games titled "Criss-Cross Apple Sauce". It utilized all the skills need to be assessed. This children took to it quickly and had fun while practicing the skills being assessed.
